Alexandre Parizeau, former president of Ubisoft Toronto and senior producer on Splinter Cell: Blacklist and Rainbow Six Vegas, will manage Amazon Games’ Montreal studio.
Parizeau joins the team with over 20 years of gaming expertise and will manage the development of a new competitive multiplayer game. According to Amazon Games, the new Montreal company will focus on “developing unique AAA games,” with the planned multiplayer IP serving as the team’s debut project.
It’s unclear which genre the game will fall under, but with a crew that has already worked on Rainbow Six Vegas and Rainbow Six Siege, it’s not unreasonable to think it’ll be an FPS.
“Alex has a lengthy experience of developing great teams and successful games, and he’s ideal for what we want to create in our new Montreal studio,” said Christoph Hartmann, vice president of Amazon Games.
“During his time at Ubisoft Montreal and Toronto, he oversaw the development teams behind big franchises, and he quickly matched our team’s vision and creative heads, some of whom he previously worked with at Ubisoft. Alex will continue to assemble an outstanding team in Montreal, and we look forward to learning more about what they are up to when the time comes.”
Of course, we’re hoping the game takes some design cues from Splinter Cell, as the stealth genre has come a long way without an asymmetrical multiplayer game like Chaos Theory. We hope to hear more in the coming months as production continues and Amazon Games Montréal launches their marketing campaign.
