CD Projekt RED has confirmed that The Witcher 3: Enhanced Edition will be released in 2021
CD Projekt SA, the parent company of CD Projekt RED, claimed a 14.5 percent rise in gross income, but a 58 percent reduction in earnings, owing in part to the significant dip in sales of Cyberpunk 2077. z
CD Projekt RED stated on the earnings call that the next-gen editions of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt for Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5 will be released in late 2021, despite certain development issues with this edition (made in conjunction with Saber Interactive).
In the case of Cyberpunk 2077, CD Projekt RED appears to be committed to delivering on its promises to gamers. The studio stated in its most recent letter to shareholders that the “target date” for the next-generation edition of Cyberpunk 2077 remained the “end of 2021.” (But here they point out that there are chances of a postponement to 2022 happening at any time.).
The Witcher 3’s next-gen update will feature a free DLC based on the success of Netflix’s Live-Action adaptation. It won’t be limited to the next generation, so Xbox One, Switch, PS4, and PC owners will be able to enjoy it as well.
There’s no indication of what the DLC will provide, but we can presumably anticipate Netflix-style armor for Geralt and perhaps some cosmetics.
