Dark Souls is celebrating it’s 10th anniversary

It may not appear so, but the famous Dark Souls is celebrating its 10th anniversary today, September 22nd, 2021. On this date, the game was initially launched in Japan, and it is a spiritual successor to Demons Souls 2009, which was released exclusively for the PlayStation 3.

While not a direct successor to Demon Souls, the game does have certain similarities. The new game is set in a different universe, but it retains the dark fantasy atmosphere, complete with dragons, monsters, and mazes.

Many gamers believe Dark Souls to be the best game from FromSoftware, which was responsible for other masterpieces like Ax and Bloodborne, in addition to the core Souls genre. Dark Souls was first released for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, and then later for the PC.

Because this is the first game in the series, one of its most distinguishing features is its difficulty, which is something FromSoftware is widely renowned for. The game has a fantasy theme and takes a lot of inspiration from Kentaro Miura’s book Berserk.

If you’re looking for a game with a high difficulty level that punishes you for making a mistake, play Dark Souls and prepare to hit and roll over and over again.

The day was even celebrated on Dark Souls’ official Twitter account.

Dark Souls 2011, Dark Souls II 2014, and Dark Souls III 2016 are the three games in the Dark Souls franchise. It’s worth noting that FromSoftware is currently working on Elden Ring.

Dark Souls is a fantastic game.
