If you’ve played God of War (2018), you’ll know that Kratos uses a shield to defend himself from hostile assaults or to execute that perfect parry at the appropriate time. The shield has no variations in this version of the game, and you can even utilize it when using Kratos for melee attacks.
Kratos will be able to use several shields in God of War Ragnarok, and each shield will have its own particular ability. However, the actual uses of these shields have yet to be revealed.
God of War Ragnarok director Eric Williams revealed this information regarding the shield in an interview with YouTube channel “Jon Ford.” He says in the interview:
“I don’t want to go into detail, but there are several shields with varying powers and protective skills. We do this because we genuinely want to give Kratos more gameplay options, such as using gear and personalizing skills.
