Grand Theft Auto V celebrates 8 years since its launch

Time passes, and today doesn't even seem like the big one. 8 years have passed since the release of Grand Theft Auto V. Rockstar Games launched Grand Theft Auto V, shortened as GTA V, on September 17, 2013, exclusively for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.

Grand Theft Auto V, the 5th entry in the main franchise, has three characters in a story filled with action, theft, and surprises. In this chaotic journey, we may get to know the characters better, such as Michael, a former bank robber in his forties who lives with a troubled family as a result of his prior life.

Michael lives in the upper-class Rockford Hills suburbs of Beverly Hills. Trevor lives alone in the Blaine County desert in a trailer, where his psychopathic impulses are fueled by his drug addictions.

Trevor is an ex-military and Michael’s previous companion. Franklin works as a vehicle thief for an unethical Armenian auto dealership owner on Vespucci Beach (based in Venice Beach). The three are drawn into Los Santos’ criminal underworld in quest of the big dollar.

Grand Theft Auto V was launched on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One over this 8-year period, and it eventually came on PC after a long wait. However, Rockstar Games is not satisfied with Grand Theft Auto V’s release on those platforms alone, and the game will also be released in March 2022 on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series S|X.

So we can already say that fans have been waiting for the major unveiling of Grand Theft Auto VI for 8 years, which is still a secret and does not even know if it exists. But it will certainly appear at some time.

Back to Grand Theft Auto V, which is still breaking sales records to this day. Months ago, we learned that Grand Theft Auto V had sold 150 million units globally, and that figure is only increasing, since, as we all know, Grand Theft Auto V is always at the top of the best-seller list in numerous countries across the world.
