PlayStation Showcase 2021, a virtual event that presented numerous teasers for forthcoming PlayStation platform titles, took place yesterday. Some fans were already guessing and expecting certain things, such as the long-awaited God of War: Ragnarok teaser and the Uncharted 4 Remaster, while others were unexpected, such as the new Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 and, of course, Marvel’s Wolverine.

Some clips also demonstrate gameplay and how new titles like Project Eve and Gran Turismo 7 work. So, here’s a look at what was displayed during the event:

Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic Remake

Starting with a narrative peak of Star Wars Legends, Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic presented a new story, with new heroes and villains in an epic battle for the destiny of the galaxy, set 4,000 years before the events of the original trilogy. The team here at Aspyr, which is part of Sony Interactive Entertainment, collaborated with Lucasfilm Games to bring a remake of this classic Star Wars adventure, remaking one of the greatest RPGs of all time for a new generation, with modern technology, features, and visuals, as well as much more, while maintaining the story’s and characters’ integrity. The game will be exclusive to the PlayStation 5 on consoles, but it will also be available on PC.

Project Eve

Finally, news about SHIFTUP Project EVE’s hack’n’slash, revealing that the game would be published on PlayStation 5. The two-year-in-development futuristic action-adventure game has been revealed for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.

Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands

The first gameplay trailer for Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands, a Borderlands-themed game, was also revealed. The game is an epic journey full of fantasy, marvels, and high-powered weapons set in a volatile fantasy world where magic, swords, and bullets collide. On March 25, 2022, the game will be published for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.

Forspoken

The trailer for Forspoken, Luminous Productions’ studio game, is provided by Square Enix. On No Fey paper, you are transported to a realm of fantasy and magic, where you must use your newly acquired magical powers to combat the horrible monsters that inhabit the territory of Athia in order to return home. Forspoken will be published in the second half of 2022 for the PlayStation 5 and PC.

Rainbow Six: Extraction

Rainbow Six: Extraction, a new trailer for which demonstrates that every tactical aspect of the franchise will now be featured in a scenario where creatures are the team’s opponents in this post-apocalyptic world, also appeared during the event. The next R6 game will be released in January 2022 for the PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, Series S, and PC.

Alan Wake: Remaster

The long-awaited remastering of a classic had previously been revealed, and it was now displayed at the event. Alan Wake: Remaster includes the complete Alan Wake experience, including the two narrative extensions, The Signal and The Writer, which were previously published as DLCs, with a new 4K aesthetic, enhanced settings and sequences, and an all-new annotated making-of.

Alan Wake Remastered will be published on October 5th on the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.

Enhanced GTA 5 and GTA Online for PlayStation 5

Rockstar’s dairy cow continues to be squeezed, and as previously announced, Grand Theft Auto V and Grand Theft Auto Online are heading to PlayStation 5. What about the game, by the way? It’s GTAV with better visuals but the same plot and activities… that doesn’t mean it’s awful; after all, you and I will most likely buy it for the fourth time! But what everyone actually wanted was two seconds of a logo with a number six…

Grand Theft Auto V and Grand Theft Auto Online will be released in March 2022 for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.

Ghostwire: Tokyo

Ghostwire: Tokyo is the new work of Shinji Mikami, the game designer of Resident Evil and God Hand, and it is a supernatural thriller that takes players to Tokyo, an ultramodern city filled with skyscrapers, traditional shrines, narrow alleys, massive intersections, and neon-lit shops, all now filled with supernatural spirits and happenings. Ghostwire: Tokyo, developed by Bethesda, is one of the few games that will stay exclusive to PlayStation 5 consoles even after the firm was acquired by Microsoft, but has now appeared on the PC.

Ghostwire: Tokyo will be available on PlayStation 5 in 2022.

Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy

Twelve years have passed since the great war known as the Galactic War raged throughout the galaxy. In Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy, the player takes on the role of a star lord who has recently collected the Guardians of the Galaxy, who have only been together for less than a year, with the job of becoming heroes for hire. In a world still recovering from the effects of war, he sees a chance for adventure and wealth.

Square Enix is handling Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy, which is set to be released on October 26 for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, and Nintendo Switch.

Blood Hunt

During the event, the Vampire Battle Royale Bloodhunt also appeared. You must become the most powerful vampire in the history of the game! The free battle royale game is set in the setting of Vampire: A Mask, where a betrayal has resulted in a conflict amongst vampires, who have also been exterminated by a hidden club called the Entity. In this spectacular combat royale, players must utilize their magical abilities, weaponry, and wits to conquer the night and restore the Masquerade.

Blood Hunt will be published later this year on the PlayStation 5, but it is currently available on PC via Steam.

Deathloop

Deathloop reappeared, this time displaying more of its gameplay. Arkane Lyon, the award-winning developer of the Dishonored series, created this first-person shooter. Two competing assassins are caught in a bizarre time warp on the island of Blackreef, condemned to repeat the same day indefinitely. The player takes on the role of Colt, and their only way out is to stop the loop by killing eight vital targets before the day begins again. This will need you to learn with each cycle, explore new pathways, acquire knowledge, and discover new weapons and skills. Break the cycle in whatever way you can.

Deathloop will be released on September 14, 2021 for the PlayStation 5 and PC.

Kid A Mnesia

Kid A Mnesia is the re-release of Radiohead’s two albums, Kid A (2000) and Amnesiac (2001), which will be published in November. The release will also include an eponymous game, which will be released in the same month in partnership with Epic Games. The game’s mechanics are not revealed in the trailer.

Tchia

Tchia, a colorful game inspired by New Caledonia, has a new video that reveals additional details about this open-world tropical adventure. You’ll play as a young lady discovering the wonders of New Caledonia, a tiny archipelago in the midst of the Pacific Ocean. In this physics-driven open environment, you will climb, glide, swim, and sail your boat throughout a gorgeous archipelago.

In 2022, the game will be released for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PC.

Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection

And, as previously predicted, the last chapter of Nathan Drake’s adventures will be remastered. Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection will bring one of the most renowned PS4 games to the next generation while also bringing Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End and its expansion to the next generation.

Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection will be released in early 2022 for the PlayStation 5 and PC. It is, without a doubt, Uncharted!

Marvel’s Wolverine

No one knew it existed, and no one was aware of its development, but it only took 53 seconds for Marvel’s Wolverine to become one of the hero’s fans’ most anticipated games. According to the PlayStation Blog, Insomniac’s concepts for the game originated during the production of Marvel’s Spider-Man, while ideas for the future emerged outside the web head. And in talks between Insomniac, Sony Interactive Entertainment, and Marvel, Wolverine was constantly mentioned as a character that both would like to work with. Time passed, and the idea was given, and now we can witness the first tease.

Marvel’s Wolverine will be published for the PlayStation 5 at some point, which makes me very pleased!

Marvel’s Spider Man 2

Once again, in partnership with Sony Interactive Entertainment and Marvel, Insomniac will add a neighborly buddy to the action. This time, Spider Man will have aid from Miles Morales to fight one of the hero’s biggest threats: Venon! The company describes Marvel’s Spider Man 2 as the character’s most epic journey to date, and it will be available only on PlayStation 5 systems in 2023.

Nothing is known about the game yet, but we can already predict that both heroes will be free to use. The question now is how Venon will be portrayed: will he be the traditional villain, or will he play the role of anti-hero?

Gran Turismo 7

And, as predicted, Great Tourism receives a new generation console edition, and with Gran Turismo 7, the faults committed in GT: Sports are expected to be exceeded by the Polyphony, bringing racing enthusiasm back to Sony’s platform. Gran Turismo 7 will be released in March 2022 for the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5.

God of War: Ragnarok

And last, he, the most awaited and talked about: God of War: Ragnarok, appeared, and we can see a little of how the next chapter of Kleiton’s story, who this time will sweep the floor with the faces of some more northern gods, will unfold. THE Santa Monica Studio showed the first glimpse, and it appears that things have gotten even more hard, with the cold winds of Fimbulwinter reaching Midgard, making Kratos, Atreus, and Mimir’s survival in the Norse realms much more difficult than before.

Atreus will be increasingly more curious about his fate in the game, and he will not be happy to keep calm when confrontations approach. Kratos, on his part, does not want his kid to learn the brutal lessons he did in the past, and will do whatever he can to keep his son safe, even knowing the awful outcome revealed by the giants’ hidden prophesy. Kratos and Atreus will have to make a difficult decision on which road to follow together. Whatever it is, when Ragnarök approaches and meets the wrath of Freya and Thor, the destiny of everyone in the Nine Realms will be sealed.

If no delays occur, God Of War Ragnarok will be released in 2022 for the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5.
