In Japan, the PlayStation 5 has sold over one million copies

According to Famitsu, cumulative sales of the PlayStation 5 in Japan surpassed one million units.

The PS5 sold 1.012.656 copies in Japan on September 5th (847.421 of the standard model and 165.235 digital model units). The previous week’s sales were 15.580 and 1.495 units, respectively.

Sony’s system, which was released on November 12, 2020 in Japan, sold one million copies in 43 weeks. Resident Evil: Village is the company’s best-selling retail game, with 67 thousand units sold.In comparison, the PlayStation 4, which was launched in Japan in February 2014, only achieved the same number in January 2015.
