PC and Xbox owners will get to play Myst’s formerly Oculus Quest-exclusive reboot starting this month.

Myst: The Gathering, originally created for the Oculus Quest, will arrive on PC, Mac, and Xbox on August 26th.

More than 16 years after its launch, this “definitive, contemporary edition” of Myst arrived on the Oculus Store in December of last year, considerably enhancing the famous islands initially shown to players in 1993.

Of course, it also features an updated graphics engine and new art and music, but in addition, this new edition of Myst is “designed from the bottom up” for virtual reality.

New VR features that include tracked motion controls, Free Roam and Teleport modes for navigation, and a range of comfort choices are also meant to be played on 2D screens.

The Cyan remake of Myst will be available for purchase on the Epic Store, GOG, and Steam on August 26th. Game Pass subscribers for PC and Xbox will also receive it on launch day.
