In a recent interview with VGC, Platinum Games shared some facts. Atsushi Inaba, the head of Platinum Games, was questioned if Star Fox Zero might be released on the Nintendo Switch.
It’s not cool that people can’t play some games that were launched on earlier platforms, so if at all possible, we’d like to bring any of those older titles to newer systems. It relies on a number of factors, but if the opportunity arises, it’s absolutely something we’d want to consider.
Star Fox Zero makes use of the Wii U’s dual displays (gamepad and TV) in its gameplay. Unfortunately, most gamers did not enjoy the gameplay, especially the controls. If a Switch version exists, the gameplay would have to be redesigned to fit on a single screen. Inaba also stated that Nintendo and Shigeru Miyamoto will make the final decision on any potential changes.
It’s crucial to remember that the concepts come from Miyamoto-san personally, as this is a Nintendo IP. We just carry out orders and respect Miyamoto’s choices. Of course, there were many conversations between Platinum and Nintendo at the time, but if the chance to bring Star Fox Zero to Switch arose again, it would be more a question of what he would like to accomplish on that occasion, and we would respect that. again.
Because of the Wii U’s poor sales, Nintendo has published a number of platform titles on the Nintendo Switch. However, certain earlier titles, such as Star Fox Zero, are only available on the Wii U.
